After a long day at work with a migraine, followed by an afternoon nap, there is only one thing for me to do… a nice glass of Apfelwein. This is part of my February batch as I am avoiding the January like the plague due to its limited edition’ness. The quality is great even though I used Mott’s rather than Martinelli’s. The carbonation is fantastic, while not anywhere close to what Matt is seeing apparently, and gives me a wonderful finish.
Fun Fact From Future AJ 11/19: These bottles became precious commodities. It really rams home that if you make Apfelwein, store it properly (or improperly) and just let it sit for years it becomes magical. I have maybe 1-2 bottles of these first batches left and really the bite tones down, becomes deceptively easy to drink and just all around incredible. I would recommend to set aside a few bottles of each batch for the long haul and drink 5-10 years down the line. So much fun!
